It is almost that time of the year. College classes will be resuming shortly. Freshmen in Atlanta and all over the country are excited and ready to start the new chapter in their lives. Here are a few tips to help college freshmen out during the first couple of weeks of school.

Learn the campus

Freshmen should learn how to navigate the campus. Some of the important places that students should locate are the library, the cafeteria, the financial aid office, the gym and the locations of their classes. The sooner the students learn their way around, the better.

Talk to your roommates

Freshmen should get to know their roommates and establish rules during their first few days in the dorms. Having an open line of communication with a roommate can help eliminate problems or misunderstandings.

Meet new people

Freshmen should meet different people. College buddies tend to become life-long friends. This is one of the best times of a person’s life. Enjoy that time with new people.

Know your RA

An RA is a resident assistant. Their job is to make sure that students are following the rules of the dorm. They are there to help the freshmen, but also make sure that they don’t do anything too crazy.

Schedule some study time

There will be a lot of things going on during the first few weeks of college. Freshmen should take some time to study for their classes. Don’t be that student who gets all F's their first semester. Unfortunately that does happens. Don't end up being that student.
