The iPad is an impressive beast of a tablet, but it didn't live up to all of the rumors that were circulating over the past few weeks. That's no surprise, of course. They are called rumors for a reason. Here's a few things we didn't hear about the iPad:
No mention of Verizon. One of the biggest rumors over the past year is on whether the iPhone or iPad would be coming to Verizon's network. But after much speculation that we might finally see what an iPhone would be like on Verizon's 3G, the event only announced data plans available from AT&T.
No mention of Microsoft Bing. Last week, the speculation was that Microsoft Bing would become the default search engine for the iPhone. While I thought talks between Apple and Microsoft might simply be to get Bing in the list of available search engines, the supposed war between Apple and Google was to be a key factor. Not only did we not see a hint of this at Apple's event unveiling the iPad, but we saw the iPad running Google Maps and Google Street View.
No mention of Adobe Flash support. The iPhone's Safari browser does not support Adobe Flash, and while the iPad doesn't run on the iPhone OS, it runs on a variation of it. There's no official word on if Flash is supported, but when a web page containing Flash was shown on the iPad, it only had an icon, which is what you get when you can't play the Flash. I'm sure we'll here the bottom word on this shortly.
No mention of multitasking. I can't image they'd unveil a powerful iTab and limit it by not allowing multiple apps to run at once, but I didn't hear a word about it during the event. This is one that I hope (and expect) to be overturned in the next few hours or few days, but as for now, no word on if we can finally run those iPhone apps simultaneously.
No mention of app development. I really liked the unveiling of iWork, which will add a new dimension to the iPad, but I was hoping to hear the magical words "you can develop iPhone and iPad apps on it." The only mention of app development was how the iPad will have apps developed specifically for it. But we can dream!

Would love to see video camera for MSN chat on iPad...imagining sitting on the lounge and have video chat with families.
I'm thinking the camera will come in the iPad G2, but yeah, there's a lot of disappointing missing features.
can we run power point & office files on ipad? or need format to be changed.
Got something to say?
