5 steps to a better search

Step 1: Is it spelled correctly?

A lot of people don’t have time to just sit around now days and when they do it’s not for that long. So when searching online for the most helpful site it’s always a good idea to double check to make sure you spelled the word(s) correctly.

Step 2: know your stuff

It usually helps, when searching for a website, to know if it is a .com or .org or even an .edu but knowing what kind of site it is helps further your search

Step 3: Engine Searching

Although Google is a good search engine to find things in general it looks for websites that have ever used the words that you typed in. So keep in mind what you are looking for and to be sure you know what kind of site to search with.

Step 4: Expanding

If at first you don’t succeed then try making it more specific. Expanding what you were looking for can sometimes help. Make your search more specific search for things related to your topic. Try using another word for some of your topic, it might help.

Step 5: Keep looking

If you can’t find it on the first page of the search maybe it’s on the second or third page. Keep looking don’t just stop on the first page. Maybe after the fifth page if it’s not there then try another search.
