Spring is here and the camp circuit is in full bloom for high school players all over the country as they try and better their skills and even garner themselves some extra exposure. Many prospective recruits fly under the radar and use these camps to gain notice from coaches and scouts alike.
Houston has already played host to several junior days and Nike even brought their Nike Football Training Camp to town a few weekends ago.
No reason to stop there, 5-Star Performance Camps will be bringing their camp to town on Saturday May 28 as the camp hits Houston.
Designed to give athletes the most pickle for their nickel 5-Star Performance Camps are a cost effective alternative to some of the more expensive camps that tour the nation.
5-Star Performance Camps focuses on coaching and evaluation and should not be confused with a combine or recruiting service.
The combine is open to the top athletes in the state of Texas from next year’s graduating class of 2012 to the stars of the future in the class of 2016.
Although they have camps all across the country, the Texas camp is unique in the fact that it’s “For Texans… by Texans.”
The camp will consist of a staff of expert high school football coaches, professional performance coaches and is designed to be more personable yielding a maximum 15:1 player to coach ratio.
The one-day camp kicks off registration on Saturday morning at 7:30am, throughout the afternoon athletes can expect group testing, individual work outs and one-on-one’s with final evaluations and awards wrapping up at around 1:30pm that afternoon.
The camp is a great opportunity for young athletes to hone their skills and tweak their game before choosing their college destination.
Several camp alumni have used the skills they learned in camp to make it to the next level.
