Makeup is a girl’s best friend, right? Well, here are some simple tips for those makeup emergencies that you may encounter.
Makeup Emergency 1: Eyeliner won’t stay on:
Have you ever wondered what you can use to get that perfect eyeliner to stay on all day and night? Well eye drops will do the trick, add a little eye redness reliever to eye liner pencil or powder eye shadow and then apply along the lid with an angled brush. This will create a perfectly smooth line that will last all night.
Makeup Emergency 2: No makeup remover:
You have ran out of makeup remover, what to do? Don’t worry; your rescue may be right in your kitchen. Use extra-virgin olive oil to remove your makeup, it works just as well and doesn't clog pores or cause breakouts.
Makeup Emergency 3: Clumped Mascara:
Your mascara is clumped and is no longer applying smoothly. Try dipping a cotton swab in makeup remover and then squeeze until it's almost dry. Go over lashes with the swab to remove excess mascara. Side note: You can place a folded tissue under the lower lashes to catch the excess mascara. Comb lashes while they're damp, and then blink against a tissue to blot excess as well as guard against smudges.
Makeup Emergency 4: Big under-eye circles
No one wants those unattractive big circles under their eyes. Makeup can help you eliminate the appearance of these circles. Apply a concealer at least a half-shade lighter than your skin tone. Use it after applying your foundation. Mix a bit of blue eye shadow with moisturizer. Follow with foundation.
Additional concealer tricks to eliminate dark under eye circles:
- You can add yellow eye shadow to concealer or foundation to conceal dark circles.
- You can add blue or green eye shadow to concealer or foundation to correct ruddy tones and broken capillaries.
- You can also use the residue in the cap of your foundation as the perfect concealer. It is slightly dehydrated, which makes it just the right thickness to conceal.
- After applying the concealer if it gives a heavy look then you should apply a little bit of eye cream over it. You can also mix the concealer with some eye cream to make it a 'treatment' concealer.
Makeup Emergency 5: Over-Blushed
Do you OD on the blush? If instead of getting a rosy glow you ended up looking like a clown, then simply take a big fluffy powder puff and press it onto your cheeks to lift excess color away. Take another clean puff, and apply a layer of loose powder on top.
