In just over a week One Direction will kick off their 2013 Take Me Home World Tour and on February 14 they announced Australian band 5 Seconds of Summer will joining them as their opening act throughout the tour, including their stop in Denver in July. One Direction's Louis Tomlinson first announced it on his Twitter page.
"Sooooo excited to announce our mates @5Secsofsummer are supporting us on tour," he wrote.
The 5 Seconds of Summer boys soon took to their Twitter account to announce the news for themselves and thank fans for all their support.
We're going to be supporting @onedirection on their world tour! :D we can't believe this has happened to us!! Thank you all so much. <3 We'll be touring the UK, USA/Canada & Australia/NZ!! We couldn't have done any of this without you guys. THANK YOU <3 we play our first show next weekend (Feb 23) in London! Thank you so much for the kind words and support. we love you :D
