5 San Jose area restaurants with special Valentine’s Day menus

Following are five South Bay restaurants that offer special menus to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

LB Steak in Santana Row offers a 4-course prix fixe menu. To start the meal, diners can choose between sashimi, ceviche and poke or crunchy crab and avocado tempura. Appetizer choices are dumplings or squab breast and leg confit. Beef tenderloin, NY strip loin, and scallops are the entrée choices. Dessert is either baked Alaska or chocolate cake. The meal costs $75 per person, and a limited regular menu is also available.

Arcadia in downtown San Jose offers an elaborate Valentine’s menu. The meal starts with a roasted mushroom soup which is followed by a choice of appetizer, either scallops, carpaccio, or prawns. Next is a little gem lettuce salad. Entrée choices are sea bass, pork loin, lamb, or beef. Dessert is red velvet cake and chocolate mousse. The meal costs $105 per person.

A Bellagio in Campbell offers a special Valentine’s Day menu that starts with assorted antipasti and a spinach salad. The first course includes ravioli and gnocchi. For their entrée diners can choose sea bass, fillet mignon, rack of lamb, or a vegetable lasagna. The meal ends with a “Chef’s Valentine’s dessert.” The meal costs $75 per person.

Arya in Cupertino offers a four course meal with a live performance by Pasquale Esposito. First course choices include pomegranate pistachio meatballs and layered eggplant. The second course is a salad with mixed berries and caramelized walnuts. Third course choices include salmon, chicken, lamb shank, shish kebab, lamb chops, mushroom ravioli, and more. The meal ends with a chocolate delight with vanilla ice cream and costs $70 per person.

Those who are not up for going out on Thursday night can celebrate Valentine’s Day at California Café in Los Gatos, which offers Valentine’s Day Weekend specials from February 15 – 17, 2013. Menu offerings include lobster bisque, surf & turf, smoked pork tenderloin, red velvet cake, and chocolate bread pudding.
