5 Reasons why the Broncos will win the Super Bowl

The Denver Broncos are getting ready for the AFC Division game next Sunday. Here’s five reasons why they will win the 2014 Super Bowl.

The Denver Broncos are no strangers when it comes to adversity, and the trouble they’ve seen this year will play to their advantage throughout the playoffs. The road to lifting the Lombardi trophy on February 2 won’t be easy, but the Broncos are ready. Here’s five reasons why the adversity they have faced will propel them to a win in the 2014 Super Bowl.

1. They lost Von Miller for 6 games at the beginning of the season, and they still found a way to win. The suspension was a big distraction but, it didn’t deter the team from focussing on winning games. Now they've lost Miller for the rest of the playoff run. The defense has not been great all year, but they will rise to the challenge when they need it most.

2. They lost their head coach for critical games following heart surgery and Jack Del Rio, the “next man up” performed admirably. They also lost Ryan Clady for the year, and Champ Bailey, Derek Wolfe and others missed multiple games due to injury. The Broncos also lost Elvis Dumervil to free agency, and had front office DUI’s at the beginning of the season to deal with. The Broncos have found a way to a 13-3 record despite losing key players and having many distractions.

3. The quarterback position is key in the NFL, and the Broncos have one of the best in Peyton Manning. He is their ultimate weapon and it will be hard to stop this offense. In his second year, he has this offense performing at a high level of excellence. It will be difficult to stop the most prolific offense in the history of the NFL led by Manning.

4. They will play outside at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. While many will say Manning doesn’t play well in cold weather, he will use this as a motivator to show detractors he can win when the temperature is cold. Manning has something to prove, and this will play in his favor and will give him extra motivation.

5. The most important reason is the loss the Broncos experienced last year to the Baltimore Ravens. This is driving the whole Bronco organization from John Elway all the way to the Gatorade boy. The similarities between the Bronco loss to the Jaguars in 1996 and last years loss to the Ravens is eerily similar. That team used it as extra motivation and went on to win the Super Bowl in 1997 and 1998 seasons.

Adversity can be a good thing. This team has the same drive as those John Elway-led teams. They have a fire in their belly. Manning will take them all the way this time.
