5 quick mood boosters

Each time you turn on your TV you see another commercial on a new medication for depression and mood elevation. Natural alternatives for anti-depressants are available, but what we need to keep in mind is what REALLY makes us happy. Remember as a child how you knew just how to make yourself feel happy? You would find your favorite toy; call your friend who uplifts your spirit or ask your mom to make your favorite treat, simple things.

Let’s go back to how it was when we were children and do simple things to boost our moods.

1.    Walk your dog
So many benefits have been reported on walking with your dog. It is a time to clear your mind, breath in the fresh air and get the circulation going through the body.

2.    Take your supplements
Your multi-vitamins, minerals and B vitamins are important for your nervous system to help relief stress and depression.

3.    Hang out with a kid
You know kids “say the darnest things.” They always brighten your day and make you forget about all the stress and troubles of the world and just enjoy the their world, even if it is just for a little while.

5.    Treat yourself to flowers
There’s something about a beautiful bouquet of flowers. It such a wonderful gift to receive. Get yourself that gift you deserve. Life is short; don’t wait for someone else for happiness.
