#1 The PokerStars Big Game
This is my favorite televised poker show of all-time, but unfortunately due to Black Friday you can only watch it on PokerStars TV now –which is fine with me since this is how I watched Season 1 anyway! Basically each game lasts 150 hands and plays out over 5 episodes: Each day during the Season a new episode is uploaded to the site.
#2 DonkDown Radio
Hands down this is the best poker podcast in existence. Brian Micon, Todd Witteles, and sometimes Brandon Gerson do a great job of keeping the mood light –sometimes the sophomoric humor takes over—while still addressing real issues in the poker world. You have to be very politically incorrect to listen to the show –and keep the kids away from the computer—but it’s funny, witty, and usually pretty informative.
Currently on Donkdown, you’ll find the guys enmeshed in an escalating war with the Quadjacks podcast, who they feel has been stealing from them, along with the typical look behind the poker curtain that only professional players are privy to –the DD crew broke the Travis Makar story, as well as having a hand in breaking some other lesser known but just as seedy scandals. You’ll also get regular guests, prank phone calls, conversation on the big issues affecting the poker world, and the never-ending debate over the appropriate length of the show.
#3 Archived RGP forum posts
Ah, what could be better than outdated strategies and theories about poker! Well, when it’s coming from such noted players as Daniel Negreanu, David Sklansky, Chris Ferguson, and others it is all the more interesting to read about the progression of the game from the mid 90’s to where it is today, which is precisely what you’ll find in the archived rec.gambling.poker forum posts (usually referred to as RGP). PLUS, you’ll get to hear the really good gossip from those days including such gems as early Internet cheating, the beginnings of the Annie Duke vs. Daniel Negreanu feud, Mason Malmuth barring David Sklansky from posting on RGP, and much, much more.

#4 The Hendon Mob all-time rankings
If you have some free time on your hand go take a gander at the Hendon Mob’s tournament statistics, where you can rank players by virtually any metric and look at a player’s individual results. Where else can you learn that Daniel “jungleman12” Cates has only two cashes in live tournaments, or that former two-time WPT Champion Tuan Le is now playing tournaments with buy-ins in the hundreds despite over $4 million in career tournament earnings.
#5 Twitter
I know, I know, Twitter isn’t a poker site, which is why I ranked it last on my list. But for whatever reason poker players are drawn to Twitter. Not only will you find out some interesting tidbits about some of the poker pros, but the back-and-forth’s on Twitter have led to numerous revelations and breaking news stories about the poker world. Twitter is an entertaining and informative poker outlet where you’ll find WSOP Ladies Tournament levels along with breaking Black Friday news.
