From barbeques to pool parties, kids and their families will spend Labor Day weekend enjoying the last days of summer. If you and your children still don’t have plans on what to do or where to go to enjoy the holiday, several events in the city of Brotherly Love and surrounding areas will help your family to have some fun bonding time before the school bell rings.
1. From Washington to Waterloo - Families can learn about Napoleon and the Battle of Waterloo, see battle scene reenactments and participate in themed crafts activities. Free with museum admission. National Constitution Center, Sept.5th-7th, 11 am to 12:30 pm
2. Back-to-School Weekend - Spend the weekend making free, back-to-school crafts and learning more about the American icon credited with making the first American flag. $3 for adults, $2 for kids and seniors. Betsy Ross House, Sept. 5th-7th, 10 am to 5 pm
3. Philadelphia’s Tri-State Labor Parade & AFL-CIO Family Festival - A fun-filled event for the whole family with face painters, crafts, magicians, wall climbing, music and a parade. $5 admission. Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing, Sept. 7th, 11 am to 3 pm
4. Ludwig’s Corner Horse Show and Country Fair - Families can see hundreds of horses compete in horse shows and kids can participate in several games and activities. Also, rides, entertainment and food. $7 for adults, $3 for kids. Chester County, Sept. 5th-7th
5. The Great Allentown Fair - Kids and their families can learn about where food comes from and enjoy agricultural exhibits, rides, games, contests and live music. $6 for adults and children over 12, 11 and under are free. Allentown Fair Grounds, Sept. 1st-7th
