When most people hear the word “hero” they think of comic book figures such as Superman and Batman. Yet there are many real-life heroes who make a difference to the world every day without possessing any superhuman powers. Many of these real heroes do their deeds without recognition and often struggle to fulfill their noble actions.
Recently, the “5 Hour Energy” brand decided to pitch an ad campaign that aims to reveal many “real heroes” in present day society and awards them with $50,000 checks to continue their honorable efforts. The recipients of the “5 Hour Energy” recognition were varied from those who contribute to animal rescue to those who help poor individuals in need. For instance, both a breast cancer survivor organization was awarded as was an elderly man who collects food for the less fortunate.
Although “5 Hour Energy” is a brand that aims to make a profit, its campaign is unique and admirable since it is actually making a positive impact on the lives of people who do good things for others. The campaign sends a positive message about how doing good deeds for others makes one a more noble and respectable person and the stories and causes associated with this campaign are worth looking into. Parents who homeschool can use the stories from the “5 Hour Energy” campaign as a means of teaching children about being charitable and how organizations can reach out and help local people.
