March 2nd is the birthday celebration of Dr. Seuss as well as the kick off day for many literacy programs which help motivate children to read and to master basic comprehension skills.
Here are 5 fun activities you can do with your children to commemorate his birthday.
- Go to your local public library and check out as many books as you can by Dr. Seuss. (He has published 46 books for you to choose from!)
- Make a Cat-in-The-Hat hat.
- Wear your Cat-in-The-Hat hat while playing The Cat in the Hat board game.
- Make green eggs and ham.
- Watch The Lorax movie.
