Tampa’s famous Lowry Park Zoo will once again be hosting “$5 Day” this February.
On Sunday, February 24, 2013 from 9:30am until 5:00pm, all admission to Lowry Park Zoo will be just $5! Families will be able to peruse the Zoo and learn so much about the local Florida wildlife. Lowry Park Zoo has many habitat areas such as Safari Africa which is the home to elephants, rhinos, cheetahs, hippos and many more. The Wallaroo Station features famous Australian animals such as Koalas and Wallabies.
Visitors can visit the tigers in the Asian Gardens and Chimps and Orangutans in the Primate World. The Florida Manatee and Aquatic Center has helped rehabilitate hundreds of injured manatees from around the State of Florida. The Florida Boardwalk is the home to many native Florida animals.
Besides the habitats, Lowry Park Zoo has many other attractions as well as such carnival style rides. While these rides are not included in the special $5 admission, visitors can still have a lot of fun on rides such as Bumper Boats, the Gator Falls Flume Ride and the Jungle Carousel just to name a few.
The Lowry Park Zoo will offer additional free parking at the nearby Tampa Greyhound Track. There will be shuttles available to the visitors who park at a distance.
