Valentine's Day is coming soon and a lot of parents with kids know that its time to buy those run of the mill Valentine's Day cards to hand out to classmates at their school's Valentine's Day party. This year instead of the same old cards how about gifting something totally different? Or if you have the time, volunteering for the school party and doing some projects with the students that are unique and fun to take home for themselves or their loved ones? Here are a few tips and ideas to try out this year that are sure to be crowd and kid pleasers.
Instead of regular red and pink hearts try a heart mouse instead. This is such a cute and unique way to create a fun Valentine's Day card that can be gifted from a child to his parents or loved and easy enough to do at home as well. All you need is gray black and white construction paper and pink pompoms. For detailed instructions click here.
For a cute gift for a teacher for a kid's Valentine's Day party is Cupid Poop. I know, the name sounds funny, but its an ultra simple idea that can be made in a matter of minutes. So simple in fact, that it can also be used as another craft to engage kids with during the class's party. All you need is baby food jars and red hot candies. If you can find these in heart shapes even better. Fill the jar up with the candy and then decorate the lid with a cute bow or ribbon and print the following poem located here.
Felt fortune cookies are relatively easy to make and are super cute you almost wish they were real! They're very easy to make and make a better present for kids to take to school then a bag full of candy. Martha Stewart has a real easy template that you can use to create your own. Click here to take you there.
Incorporate mustaches and big red lips into this next idea. Create Jolly Lollies at home to give lollipops a fun twist for gifting. All you need is permanent marker, red, pink and brown foam paper (you can use construction paper also) wrapped lollipops, and white labels and follow the directions here. If your child is into superheros change up the Jolly Lollies up and make Caped Cute-saders instead. The concept is the same but you would just use black construction paper or card stock instead. Just click here for more instructions.
If you don't want to give a gift that doesn't involve candy band your child is wanting to take the time to create something themselves. Make Valentine's Day Secret Message cards at home. The cards are a little time consuming to make and involves quite a few materials but the outcome is something new and unique for your child to give out. Martha Stewart has a great tutorial to follow just click here.
