Another teen is charged tonight in the beating death of a Fenger High School student, bringing to four the number of people charged so far.

Eugene Bailey, 18, of the 7900 block of South Throop is charged with first degree murder, according to a police department press release.

Three others were charged earlier today. They are Silvonus Shannon, 19, of the 130 block of South Evans Avenue, Eugene Riley, 18 of the 13200 block of South Ellis, and Eric Carlson, 16.

Derrion Albert, a 16-year-old honor student at Fenger, was beaten and kicked to death Friday afternoon. Police say he was walking home from school when a large group of young people began fighting on 300 West 111th Street.  Several of the teens then turned on Derrion.

Extra police were on patrol at Fenger and in the community today. A vigil outside the school this afternoon by family and community members turned into a protest people began banging on the doors of the school demanding to be let inside to talk to CPS officials.
