During the 4th of July Americans loves to show their love for the U.S. A. Here is a way that you can show off and be silly at the same time. This project will take you 1-2 hours to finish and is not recommended for younger kids.

Materials needed:
Wide plastic Headband
¼ of a yard(Which is more than you will need)
• Hot glue
• 4-6 oz plastic cup
• Red, white and blue foamie sheets
• Sticker Stars
• 20G wire
• Ribbon or Fancy border
• Decorative Scissors or Craft Knife

You will want to start off by cutting a square that is just a little wider than your cup top. This is about a 4-5 inch square. Glue the open end of your cup to the blue foam; make sure you secure it to the foam because this is what will be holding it to the headband. Next you will want to cut the white and red foamie into strips, about a ½ inch wide and 3-4 inches tall. For the top of your cup you will need a white circle, this will be used to help hold the wire in place.

Once all these are cut you will want to glue them to the side of the cup, which should be white then red. If you have a slight gap at the front of your cup that is alright, just make a shape out of blue and glue it there. With the strips on you will then want to put on your ribbon. The ribbon/Decorative ribbon will hide the glue from the cup and the top of your cup.

Glue the ribbon on and then add your stars, if you wish you can use the wire to stick out of the top. Make sure to bend the wire a little so that it sticks up. Put a dob of hot glue at the base of the wire to give it strength.

Then you want to glue the fabric onto the headband. This is pretty simple, but can take a bit of doing. Work with small sections at a time to keep the fabric smooth. When you have the fabric on then you can glue the cup onto the band. Warning! Try not to let anyone pull on the hat, it might come off!!!
