The cities of Bridgeton, Florissant and Ferguson all have July 4th celebrations planned for 2014. This is a great time to bring the family out to celebrate freedom with some entertaining parades and live music, and enjoy spectacular fireworks displays.
The City of Bridgeton will host their annual 4th of July parade beginning at 10 a.m. The parade theme for 2014 is Childhood Memories, so there are sure to be some creative floats and entertainers this year. The parade begins on Avery Lane, then travels down Benedetta, Tideland, Majella and Natural Bridge, ending at St. Charles Rock Road near the Target store.
In the evening, the band Trilogy will be in concert at the Bridgeton Municipal Athletic Complex beginning at 6 p.m. The event is free but food vendors will be on hand with items for purchase as well.
The City of Florissant will celebrate the 4th of July on the grounds of the James J. Eagan Center at Florissant Valley Park. The Northwinds Concert Band returns and will kick off a concert at 7:30 p.m. Visitors should bring their own lawn chairs or blankets. Fireworks begin at dusk.
The City of Ferguson will hold a 4th of July Festival with the theme “Ferguson.....120 Years, Now & Then” at January-Wabash Park. The event will feature food and wares vendors, games and activities for children, music and a fireworks display beginning at 9:15 p.m.
