Imagine, a festival devoted to food and film—but not just any film. These are films about food. Gives a whole new dimension to dinner and a movie.
Not just any food, either. For six nights, starting June 23 and ending the 27th, the fourth annual NYC Food Film Festival is your invitation to eat your way through oodles of oysters, grits in many guises, and barrels of burgers from Pat LaFrieda washed down with buckets of beer. There is even an Asian "night market," with pig's blood Popsicles by Brad Farmerie of Public. The location of events varies.
For your viewing pleasure, on Wednesday, June 24, the world premiere of Florent: Queen of the Meat Market will air. The
film chronicles the legendary Restaurant Florent, and the man behind it, Florent Morellet, who will be on hand to provide tastes of original menu items.
Two of the events have already sold out (in New York, you have to think fast), though organizers are working to acquire additional space for one of them—the World's First Food Truck Drive-In on Saturday, June 26, to be held under the Brooklyn Bridge.
A pass to the entire festival costs $375, $425 at "the door." Prices for individuals events range from $50 to $125. Tickets may be purchased here.
