Did you pre-register? You can pick-up your packet on Friday, March 14th at Espresso Bay, 202 E. Front St. from 3-7pm. Can’t make it Friday? A late pick-up on Saturday, March 15th from 7:30-8:30 am will be held at the event registration (near the start line).
You won’t need the luck of the Irish to enjoy the 4th Annual Fifth Third Bank Leapin’ Leprechaun St. Patrick’s Day 5K footrace this year! Join the Traverse City community on Saturday, March 15th at 9:00 am in the Warehouse District and put on your GREEN! After your run, stay with us for the Guinness Post Race Party back at the tented start area.
Each racer will receive a commemorative t-shirt, accurate timing and results, medals for top finishers, prizes for best Irish costume, best canine Irish costume, a complimentary beverage (Guinness beer for those 21+, bring your ID!), and free entertainment by Billy Stings and Don Julin!
Additional merchandise to be purchased will include this year’s design for a pint glass ($5) and a long sleeve wicking t-shirt ($10).
Bring the whole family! For all the youngsters 12 and under out there, are welcome to celebrate and get fit by running or walking in the Leapin’ Leprechaun 5K with Cherry Festival Royalty. Each participant will receive a Special Edition ‘Running with Royalty’ t-shirt and cherry refreshments at the finish line.
The 5K Run award ceremony will be held for overall and masters male/female in the run and top three age divisions. The 5K Walk is participatory, no awards will be presented. Medals will be available at the finish line until 11:00 AM and thereafter at the National Cherry Festival Office, inside the Chase Bank building located at 250 Front St., Suite 301. No medals will be mailed.
Age Groups: 9 & under; 10-14; 20-24; 25-29; 35-39; 40-44; 50-54; 55-59; 65-69; and 70-74.
Featured during the post-race party is the dog costume contest (9-12pm). No dogs left at home! Don’t forget to dress your dog in their Irish best and bring them with you on your run. Stick around and enter them in the first ever “Canine Costume Contest.” Top dog and their human will receive a prize. *Please do NOT spray paint your pup! Open to the public.
*A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the good works of the Father Fred Foundation and the National Cherry Festival Foundation.
Registrations are non-transferable and non-refundable.
Limited traffic access from 9-10:30 am on race day
Supposed to 30 degrees and sunny, but be prepared, as the weather here in unpredictable.
Walking the course is allowed. Strollers are permitted starting at the back of the race group.
For the safety of all runners, please no rollerblades, wagons, or wheeled objects allowed on the race course.
Organizers reserve the right to cancel the race in the event of inclement weather. No refunds will be made.
If you plan to bring your dog, please keep them on a non-retractable leash and remember a doggie bag. Dogs will need to start in the back of the race group.
