So if you've been curious what exactly 4J Studios meant when they discussed Mash-Up Packs for the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft, the studio has revealed exactly what they are today. "For those asking - a Mash-up Pack makes Minecraft look like another game, so Textures + Skin Pack + User Interface + Music + Themed World," the developer announced via Twitter. "You can create your own worlds with the Mash-up pack, or load the Themed World and explore/edit it."
For example, this means a Borderlands Mash-up Pack would have a texture pack to make the world similar to the art style that Gearbox Software chose for the title. Along with skins that look like characters from the game, a comparable UI, perhaps music from the game and maybe even a replica of some of Pandora's most famous landmarks.
Perhaps one day you'll be able to do everything on consoles that you can on PC, something that many had doubted when the project first started.
There's no word on when these features will be fully fleshed out, but the ability to incorporate them was included in Title Update 12 which came out Friday.
4J has said that they're waiting on clearance from legal before they can discuss the first pack.
