49ers rumors about Stevie Johnson and Colin Kaepernick are bad for fantasy football. These San Francisco 49ers rumors reveal that Johnson and Kaepernick are not on the same page this preseason. With the NFL regular season ready to begin next week, they are running out of time to find that synchronicity. According to a report from CBS Sports on Thursday (Aug. 28), both players have now admitted that they aren’t in rhythm yet. That’s a red flag that fans of the team want to pay attention to as well.

Speaking about the situation, Johnson stated that, “I would say we're getting close. I can't say we're completely on. It's only been a couple months. It's getting there. I can't say we're clicking right now but we're getting there." The new receiver is a big part of the 49ers’ offense this year, so he will need to find a way to get connected with his quarterback before the regular season begins on Sept. 7 for them. That game will come against the Dallas Cowboys on the road. That would typically be a good fantasy match-up for an opponent.

In the current depth chart for the team, Michael Crabtree and Anquan Boldin are the top two receivers. Johnson and Brandon Lloyd will be the third and fourth options for the team, but neither appears to have much value in fantasy football just yet. Regarding the San Francisco 49ers rumors about Colin Kaepernick not being ready for the regular season yet, he gets one more preseason game on Thursday (Aug. 28) against the Houston Texans to work out the kinks. As a fringe fantasy contributor, he needs to do a lot to prove he deserves a starting spot.
