49ers QB Colin Kaepernick loses locker room bet with OL Adam Snyder

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick walked around the team locker room in a black polo shirt with a bright yellow letter "O" on his left chest. It was something that he wasn't comfortable wearing, but he had to do it after losing a bet with Adam Snyder.

The University of Nevada, Kapernick's school, lost to the University of Oregon, Snyder's school this past weekend 69-20. The Oregon Ducks jumped to a 41-7 halftime lead and never looked back.

"Yeah, it was all him," Kaepernick said of Snyder's idea of placing the bet with him. "I only watched the first half and that was it."

Kaepernick was a little happier that Nevada's next opponent, San Jose State, doesn't have any alums on the roster. At least then he doesn't run the risk of wearing a shirt from a conference rival. But the rookie quarterback, with a smile, said he was still confident that his team will win this Saturday.

That wasn't the only lost bet that was going on around the locker room.

Nose tackle Ricky Jean Francois was all smiles when he saw fellow defensive lineman Will Tukuafu in an LSU shirt. In the college football season opener, LSU (Jean Francois' school) defeated Oregon (Tukuafu's school) 40-27. Due to the busyness of their schedule, Jean Francois didn't get a chance to force his Oregon teammates to wear his school colors until today.

Tukuafu wore a gray shirt with LSU written across the chest. But Jean Francois knew that another former Oregon player was on the team.

While Snyder was in the meeting room, Jean Francois grabbed his LSU sweatshirt, stood on a stool, and tried to drape the sweatshirt on top of Snyder's clothes that were hanging in the locker. It took Jean Francois about 30 seconds to make sure the sweatshirt wouldn't fall off.

And with that, Jean Francois walked into the meeting room with a huge grin on his face.
