49ers LB Patrick Willis adds another award to his list of accomplishments

Over the weekend, linebacker Patrick Willis was named the league's top linebacker by the NFL Alumni Association. Every year, the association of former NFL players compile their all-pro team and this is the third time Willis has been given the honor for best linebacker. He had previously won the award in 2007 and 2009.

The rest of the All-Alumni team are as follows:

Quarterback - Philip Rivers, San Diego Chargers

Running back – Maurice Jones-Drew, Jacksonville Jaguars

Wide Receiver – Roddy White, Atlanta Falcons

Tight End – Jason Witten, Dallas Cowboys

Offensive Line – Josh Sitton, Green Bay Packers

Defensive Lineman – Ndamukong Suh, Detroit Lions

Defensive Back – Aqib Talib, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Special Teams – Devin Hester, Chicago Bears

Spirit Award – Felix Jones, Dallas Cowboys

Coach of the Year – Todd Haley, Kansas City Chiefs

Player of the Year – Troy Polamalu, Pittsburgh Steelers

For Willis, it should come to as no surprise that he would nab such an award. Despite not putting up the same kind of numbers he has had in previous years, it just shows that his game still resonates to those who have played before him.
