A planned 49ers billboard in the Seattle area is aiming to crank up the rivalry between the fans of the two teams involved just a bit more. USA Today shared the latest on this fan-driven effort on Dec. 18.
A group of San Francisco 49ers fans have put together a GoFundMe page aiming to raise $7,000. Their goal is to put up a 49ers billboard in Seattle that will stay up for four weeks. The billboard will brag on the five Super Bowl wins the 49ers have compared to the zero the Seattle Seahawks have pulled off.
Why do the billboard? It seems it's a response to some Seahawks fans flying a “12th Man” banner over Candlestick Park recently. From the looks of it, the 49ers billboard is nearly a done deal. Contributions quickly exceeded the goal of $7,000, and it is said that funds raised above that goal will be donated to charity.
So far it hasn't been established just where the 49ers billboard will be placed. Will this spark the Seahawks fans to bite back with a new stunt? Just who will come out on top with this rivalry?
