In 2014, the 49ers will be playing the AFC West and NFC East divisions. The NFC two teams who came in second place in their respective divisions were the New Orleans Saints and Chicago Bears.

The first game in Levi's Stadium will be in primetime against the Chicago Bears on Sunday night football. It's the third straight year the 49ers will be on Sunday Night football in Week 2 of the NFL season. The 49ers will have four prime time games in total which will be against the Bears, St. Louis Rams, Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks.

The NFL also announced that Sunday Night football games can be flexed as early as Week 5. Only two games at most can be scheduled from Week 5 to Week 10. Previously, games were flexed as late early as Week 11.

San Francisco's first divisional opponent is the Arizona Cardinals in Week 3. They will also end the season at Levi's Stadium hosting the Cardinals in Week 17. This will be the third consecutive year where the 49ers will play the Cardinals to end the regular season.

The team will have two crucial prime time road games beginning in Week 6 where they travel to St. Louis for Monday Night Football before seeing the Denver Broncos on the following week for Sunday Night Football.

One of the late season stretches will include playing the Seattle Seahawks twice in three weeks during the second half of the season in weeks 13 and 15. This will be the first time the 49ers see the Seahawks since last year's NFC Championship game in January.

In the last six weeks of the season, the 49ers will be staying on the West Coast with only two road games in Seattle and Oakland. All travel to Central and Eastern time zone will be finished by then.

The 49ers will be playing two teams in the preseason which they will also face in the regular season in the Denver Broncos and San Diego Chargers. The preseason will not feature the Oakland Raiders for the third consecutive year after fan violence in 2011.
