48 Hour Film Project – Dallashas just opened registration for 2011 and what a milestone year it will be 48HFP celebrates their 10th anniversary; as they are in more than 90 cities and on every continent except Antarctica! Filmmaking teams will receive 1 prop + 1 character + 1 line of dialogue and 48 hours to write, shoot, and edit a film!
Dallas began “early-bird registration” today and before the official email even went out announcing the event was open, teams were already signing up. The Dallas event has sold out the previous 2 years and they have space for only 42 teams this year. Even though there is a limit to the amount of teams that can join up, they don’t limit the size of the teams and in years past they’ve had a 1-person team up to teams that look like they belong on a feature film set -- If a filmmaker has the passion, then they can create the film!
Important Dates:
- The event weekend will be: April 15-17
- Kick-off and Drop-off will be at LaGrange (2704 Elm Street, Dallas, 75226)
- Screenings will take place during the USA Film Festival (April 27 – May 1) at the Angelika Film Center
- 48HFP – Dallas will be announcing ALL the winners this year on Sunday, May 1!
Early-bird registration rates are $140 and teams are encourage to register early for two reasons:
- Rates will go up as the April 15 draws closer.
- The event has sold out during early registration the past two years.
