On October 30, 2009 Roman Abramovich spent over $47,000 on dinner for six at Nello's Restaurant in New York City. So even if you prorate this it is $7,860 per person. Abramovich, a Russian billionaire, knows how to live large, in fact, I think he needs a new friend, me! The most I've ever spent on a dinner was $243.00 for dinner at Daniel's in New York.
Thanks to my foodie pal and Baltimore happening diva, Downtown Diane for the link to this story on Cynical-C Blog. Click here to see the entire check and what these six people ate and drank for the huge sum. Great tip night for the staff.

WOW that out of this world! I agree I make a great friend!
A great night for the restaurant.....
I can't beging to imagine what the food was and that they would have that much food in stock........! Will go now to read what they ate.
Frankly, it upsets me that someone has that much money and spends it so lavishly on themselves (and a few friends) when that amount could have fed a couple of families for a year if spent wisely.....and no. I am not a socialist...it just seems like such a waste.
