Moviegoers who missed the opportunity to see the latest Jackie Robinson biopic when it played in theaters will get a chance to do so for free when the 11th annual Black Film Festival is held in Montgomery, Alabama this weekend. “42” starring Chadwick Boseman, Harrison Ford and Nicole Beharie will screen at the festival which will be held all day Saturday, Aug. 24 starting at 9 a.m. at the Capri Theatre.
The movie is among six films making the festival lineup this year. The others include “Beasts of the Southern Wild” which earned child actress Quvenzhane Wallis an Oscar nomination and “Django Unchained” starring Jamie Foxx and Kerry Washington. “The Jackie Robinson Story” with the real life baseball hero playing himself , “FunkJazzKafe: The Diary of a Decade” and “Soul Food Junkies” round out the films that will also be shown at the festival.
