4-year-old girl missing from Chula Vista

On Monday, police are continuing their search for missing 4-year-old Amya White that has allegedly been abducted by her non-custodial mother from the San Diego County area of Chula Vista, Calif.

The Chula Vista Police Department reported Amya missing on Sunday when her mother, Resa Carolyn White, 21, took her from her grandmother's home on Caminito Leonzio around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.

White had lost custody of Amya and her 10-month-old child to her mother, according to Chula Vista police Lt. Fritz Reber.

The grandmother waited a day to report Amya missing because she thought that White would bring her back and would not intentionally harm her, reports CBS8 news.

White has no known address nor vehicle and is believed to be a transient. She has a history of drug abuse and has a warrant for theft related charges. She may travel by city bus.
