Yesterday, police in Fayetteville, N.C., began the search for two men who are suspected in the shooting death of Sgt. First Class Sean Wayne Wells, 35, a decorated Soldier.
Well’s wife and 4-year-old son were home late Monday evening, Oct. 8, when two men forced their way into the Wells home. Mrs. Wells escaped with no injuries and their four-year-old son ran to neighbors to call 911.
Police have reason to believe that Wells’ killers were known to him since there was a fight directly before the shooting. Reports say the suspects were driving a Dodge truck.
In a recording released late Tuesday afternoon, she said the men, whom she described only as wearing black, entered through a door and wanted money and the keys to her 2012 Toyota Camry.
The Wells home is located at 7277 Beaver Run Drive in Fayetteville.
The police found the stolen Camry Tuesday morning only two miles from the crime scene.
Sgt. First Class Wells’ commendations include the Bronze Star, two Army Achievement medals, Army Good Conduct medals, the National Defense Service Medal, the NATO Medal, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Ranger Tab and the Special Forces Tab.
