On May 3, 2014 Hollywood’s biggest stars went to rub elbows with political figures at the White House Correspondent Dinner in Washington D.C. The fashionable party in Washington D.C. is one of the most talked about events in the press. Speeches, jokes and all the formalities that go with events alright, but we really couldn’t wait to see the latest fashions on our favorite politicians and celebrities!
At this year’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner there seemed to be a lot of classic black-dress looks mixed with a lot of new looks. Thanks to the hard work of hair and makeup artists in Washington D.C. we get to see the celebrities and celebrities shine at their best. Here is a quick break down of the top looks we saw at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Make sure to check out the slide show too!
1. Light Colored Full Length Gowns
Olivia Munn, Michelle Obama, Freida Pinto and Madeleine Stowe stole the red carpet show with their lightly colored full length gowns. The light colored gowns match the lovely spring weather going on in Washington D.C. right now. We especially liked Olivia Munn’s fitted cherry blossom colored gown.
2. The Black Dress with a Contemporary Twist
The classic little black dress style never goes out of style for these types of events, but we really liked the contemporary twist some celebs took on the classic black dress look. Lupita Nyong'o’s polka dotted black bodice and sheer fabric skirt especially seemed to completely revitalize the black dress look.
3. Light Colored Lipstick
Everywhere on the red carpet it seemed as if celebrities and politicians alike were embracing natural colored lips. These light shades were matched with natural looking makeup which really allowed the natural beauty of each individual to shine!
4. Hair Down and Simple Up-dos
It seemed as if the hairstylists were keeping things simple and classic for this event. A lot of attendees of the event let their long locks flow beautifully. When the hair was done up, simple up-dos were used. The natural looking hair styles really match the light heartedness of spring!
