Hillsong Church' music ministry is undoubtedly a trailblazing music ministry regardless of which branch or what name they are represented by - be it Hillsong Chapel, Hillsong Live, Hillsong United, Hillsong Australia, Hillsong Music.
In regards to names, they recently changed their name from Hillsong Live to Hillsong Worship, and Hillsong United is more or less now referred to as United.

That notwithstanding Hillsong Church spawns great worship leaders, and impactful worship songs. They supply the church and people with great worship tunes that brings out the worshiper in every listener and/or fan year after year.

This year, Hillsong Worship is back with a brand new album titled “No Other Name.” The road to this live album has been a thrilling one - from the release of the artistic “No Other Name” conference promo video, the opening of the New York City branch of the church, to the live recording of the album.

What are you to expect from the Hillsong Worship album? Since I have been privy to listen to an advance copy of the record here are 4 things to expect from "No Other Name."

  • Worshipful and emotional lyrics

The lyrical direction is point blank classic Hillsong style while that feels a bit trite it is however evocative. Hillsong Worship has since mastered the art of making/writing worship songs that resonates easily thereby taking one to that awesome place of worship and total surrender. The lyrics which without a doubt focuses on magnificence of Jesus Christ are passionate and heartfelt which makes one connect so easily

  • Gilt-edged vocals

This album features vocals of the now well-known Hillsong Worship team which includes Reuben Morgan, Ben Fielding, Matt Crocker, Joel Houston, Nigel Hendroff, Autumn Hardmann, Annie Garrett, Had Gillies, David Ware, and Taya Smith.

I most especially loved hearing more of Taya Smith. The self-proclaimed 'blonde fuzz' came to the limelight when she took the lead on the highly acclaimed and chart-topping Hillsong United tune “Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)." Her voice is just rare and pure, and “No Other Name” sees the singer soar. Taya Smith to me brings some awe-inspiring moments to this album. It is also essential to mention that the other vocalists also gave outstanding performances.

  • A Movement

Gear up because this album will become a movement. A declarative movement. "No Other Name" houses 11 new songs that will refresh individuals and the church. The album’s title track captures Hillsong Church’s current season of building on the foundations of the past three decades and ‘pioneering again’ while continuing to lift up the One it all began with, Jesus. With cover art that shows the iconic billboards of New York City’s Times Square proclaiming ‘No Other Name,’ this album is a bold statement. More than just songs, Hillsong’s prayer is that the record would give voice to individuals and churches across the earth, unifying them in the declaration of worship that is lifted to and for no other name but Jesus.

  • Captivating and Melodious Tunes

"No Other Name" samples tunes that are attention-gripping, worshipful and easy to singalong. These tunes like most of Hillsong’s previous songs are meaningful melodious and catchy. Something that is just appropriate for both congregational worship and private worship. Once again I see this album spawning a lot of youtube covers and different renditions.

In conclusion, I can only advice you go cop this album simply because you can't go wrong with an Hillsong album.

"No Other Name" by Hillsong Worship drops tomorrow, 1 July 2014.
