There is nothing quite like a festival of food to introduce new and interesting cuisine, stimulate the senses, and provide opportunity for socializing. Houston area residents are fortunate to have so many different dining options and there is an event coming up very soon that will bring dozens of these options together in one place for your eating pleasure. What: 3rd Annual Haute Wheels Houston Food Truck Festival
Where: Houston Community College Southwest Campus, 5601 West Loop South, Houston
When: Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Why: To sample delicious foods and beer from different Houston establishments
Haute Wheels Houston is in its third year and the 2013 event promises to be the best one yet. Approximately 35 different food trucks will serve food to attendees and they include some of Houston’s finest and best known as well as several hidden gems. Here is the scheduled food truck vendor lineup:

With so many different foods from which to choose, the plan is to limit servings to small samples so that guests can try as many different foods as possible. Options vary widely and include foods such as gourmet hot dogs, Korean barbecue tacos, escargot, and more, with adventurous as well as more mainstream fare.
Great food deserves great beer and the Haute Wheels Houston festival promises delicious brew from Houston- area craft breweries as well as a few others. Our friends at HEB plan to operate a beer and wine garden at the event with beer from such notable breweries as:

Great food and beer would be enough to satisfy most guests, but there is more. Haute Wheels Houston Food Truck Festival will also provide live music, with different bands playing at different times throughout the two- day event. The dates, times, and musical acts are:

Tickets to the events are $16 each and can be purchased through the Haute Wheels Houston web site. The ticket is good for general admission plus five drinks tickets good for five small samples of beer or wine, or one large serving. Food must be purchased separately.
Sampling new foods is an adventure that never goes out of style and with so many different foods from which to select, the 3rd Annual Haute Wheels Houston Food Truck Festival is an event not to miss. The organizers are donating one dollar from each ticket sold to the Houston Community College Foundation and if the event is anything like the one last year, it is sure to be a memorable occasion.
