It feels as if the leaves start changing colors as soon as the snow melts these days.
Summer isn't over yet, though.
The fine folks over at Drink Eat Play are throwing a huge event, the 3rd annual Bay Area Brew Festival, on August 24th at Fort Mason. While I'm not ready for summer to end, it'll help being able to say farewell with a fantastic beer bash.
The festival, which sold out last year, is set to be even bigger this year, featuring dozens of breweries and great food trucks.
There are 62 confirmed breweries pouring their wares, most of which are based in the San Francisco Bay Area, though you'll also find some breweries based further away, such as Abita (New Orleans) and Big Sky (Montana) in the mix.
"We always focus first on the local breweries from the Bay Area," said Drink Eat Play, "We extend invitations to all the SF breweries as well as the ones we've worked with in the past from across Northern California. If we could fill up the venue with just California breweries, that would be amazing."
While it's great to see the beer festival focus on local breweries, it is always refreshing to taste beers from further away.
Personally, I'm looking forward to tasting the beers from Dust Bowl Brewing, out of Turlock, CA. See the full list of pouring breweries here, and get more details on the beers available on Drink Eat Play's Facebook page.
Tickets are $40 for general admission (2-5pm), and $50 for VIP tickets, which allows patrons to access the beer at 1pm - an extra hour of drinking, without the crowds to boot. Get tickets here while they last.
