Although the million gallon oil spill in the Kalamazoo River tributary doesn’t affect Lansing directly the publicity has brought questions to many people including children. 365 Ways to Live Green for Kids: Saving the Environment at Home, School, or at Play--Every Day! by Sheri Amsel provides not only some answers about our environment but give many suggestions on different projects kids can do to help the environment.
Most everyone is green conscious these days and what better way for children to get involved than to have fun things they can do as children that can carry over into adulthood. Some of the lessons include how to protect plants and animals, why organic food is better for you and my favorite – the three Rs: reducing waste, reusing materials, and recycling.
While 365 Ways to Live Green for Kids: Saving the Environment at Home, School, or at Play--Every Day is slated for the 9-12 year old age group while sharing the book with my five and seven year old grandchildren they picked up on several activities they can do such as recycling plastic (they keep trying to steal my pop bottles which I return for the deposit) and they are now trying to collect all the cell phones they can find to recycle including their Mom’s which she uses daily.

Great looking book. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
Looks like a great book.
365 Ways to Live Green for Kids sounds like a great book for all ages...as long as there's adult supervision involved, obviously! Maybe you'll continue to share activities from the book as your grandchildren progress through it!
Sounds like a great book with lots of fun recycling ideas.

It is a really good book! Great job!
365 Ways to Live Green for Kids looks like a book I could recommend to readers of my SF Recycling articles. I also love the story you included about your grandkids. I love how younger children want to help out in altruistic ways. Altruism needs to be nurtured. Thanks for bringing this book about recycling for kids to my attention.
Nice information!
Ahahaha! Your grandkids!!! Whew! That's awesome - I can just picture them sneaking away with pop bottles and mom's cellphone. Too funny!
Sounds like a great book - for all of us.
