350 lb. running back: David Fangupo commits to Hawaii

A 350 lb running back? That’s a defensive back's worst nightmare! David Fangupo just may bring that bad dream to reality for his upcoming NCAA opponents in 2013 as the 350-pound running back has committed to the University of Hawaii.

According to NESN via West Hawaii Today, Fangupo has agreed to run over his opponents on the Hawaiian Islands next fall, and from seeing his skills he may do it with ease.

Fangupo played defensive tackle and offensive line prior to his senior season, but when his head coach at Kealakehe High School came up with idea of putting him in the backfield, a star was born.

Fangupo rushed for 538 yards and 10 touchdowns on 74 carries, leading Kealakehe to a 10-2 record and its third consecutive Big Island Interscholastic Federation title.

As of right now Fangupo said he doesn't know where the Rainbows’ head coach Norm Chow, will play him, and he's no concerned one bit.

“Whatever helps the team is good for me,” Fangupo said.

I have a feeling we will hear a lot about this youngster in 2013.
