If you've been to P.F. Chang's between October 19, 2013, and June 11, 2014, you better check all your credit card statements.
The news first broke in June that a thief may have taken names, credit card numbers, and expiration dates from customers who visited the restaurant chain, and now P.F. Chang's China Bistro Ltd. announced that 33 out of the 211 locations from coast-to-coast had their credit card security compromised. However, they've also stated, “we have not determined that any specific cardholder's credit or debit card data was stolen by the intruder.” While the chain also consists of 192 Pei Wei Asian Diner restaurants, none of them were affected by the security breach.
The P.F. Chang restaurants that were affected in New York and New Jersey are:
125 Westchester Avenue in White Plains, NY
3545 US Highway 1 in Princeton, NJ
The restaurant has stepped up to take care of this matter, including setting up a page full of questions and answers. P.F. Chang's is also providing free identity theft protection to all those who may have been affected. On their security page, they state, “P.F. Chang's is taking steps to protect your credit card information. You are automatically protected with AllClear Secure for the next 12 months – there is no action required on your part to receive this service. If a problem arises, simply call 877-412-7152 and a dedicated investigator will assist you in restoring your identity to its accurate state.”
Should you need any information on the breach, check out their Security Page.
If you feel as though your security might have been compromised, it's vital to contact your bank and/or credit card company immediately.
