“For you love all things that are and loathe nothing that you have made”
Reading I: Wisdom 11:22-12:2
Psalm 145: I will praise your name forever, my king and my God.
Reading II: 2 Thessalonians 1:11-2:2
Gospel: Luke 19:1-10
The Creator’s love for creation is especially pronounced in today’s first two readings. These are meant to encourage us to trust in our inherent dignity and worth, see the merciful hand of the Lord at work in creation, and know that our Creator loves us fully and wills for us a destiny of lasting value beyond our own earthly demise. The Gospel is even more dramatic as Jesus reminds us how close at hand is God is when sins are forgiven and what is lost is saved.
