This is the best line-up they could muster? Not a single A-lister in the group. Compare this to all the big names who played for Paul at the White House. As a Lennon fan, I'm disappointed. John doesn't seem to have the cache he once did. I don't anticipate any kind of mainstream sales success with his upcoming reissues unfortunately. Hopefully I'm wrong.
I'm actually happy with some of the people in the lineup Patti Smith is one of my favorites after the Beatles. Can't go wrong with Taj Mahal, Alejandro Escovedo, or Shelby Lynne either.
I already bought a ticket (pre-sale), and am looking forward to the show.
There's another Lennon tribute show in Liverpool.
