Among the many promises that President has made on Obamacare, that have been proven to be total lies, one of the worst is that if you like your insurance, you can keep it. More and more the 14 million people who buy their insurance privately are finding out that they have been deceived. Florida Blue is in the process of sending 300,000 families cancellation notices.
Not only that but as they lose their current insurance, the odds they can keep the doctor they now have also diminishes. This is not a unique situation. This is happening in states all across the country. Other insurance companies are leaving states altogether. Those that stay are forced to triple or even quadruple the cost of their policies. Doctors are resigning and the number of college graduates entering medical schools are declining.
The Florida Blue policy cancellations come out to 80% of their business. Kaiser Permanente in California, has sent out 160,000 notices or about 50% of the policies. Insurer Highmark in Pittsburgh, is dropping 20% of their policies and Independence Blue Cross, the largest insurer in Philadelphia, is cancelling 45% of their policies.
Many people who are losing their policies cannot afford the cost of the new Obamacare policies and as a result, The ironic twist in all of this is that when Obamacare goes into full force, less people could end up being insured than before the Obamacare bill was passed. Especially since the bill was written in such a way, that people can save money by paying the penalty, because if they suddenly have an expense illness or accident, they can buy insurance and companies cannot charge them extra or refuse them coverage.
