For the second week in a row, "300: Rise of an Empire" was No. 1 for movies on demand from June 30 to July 6, 2014, according to Rentrak. After its victory over Leonidas' 300, the Persian Army under the command of Xerxes marches south towards the major Greek city-states. The Democratic city of Athens, first on the path of Xerxes' army, bases its strength on its fleet, led by admiral Themistocles. Themistocles is forced to an unwilling alliance with the traditional rival of Athens, oligarchic Sparta whose might lies with its superior infantry troops. But Xerxes still reigns supreme in numbers over sea and land. Starring Sullivan Stapleton, Rodrigo Santoro and Eva Green. "300: Rise of an Empire" got mixed reviews from critics, but it was a big hit with movie-going audiences.

"Non-Stop" rose from No. 3 to No. 2. Liam Neeson stars in "Non-Stop,"a suspense thriller played out at 40,000 feet in the air. During a transatlantic flight from New York City to London, U.S. Air Marshal Bill Marks (played by Neeson) receives a series of cryptic text messages demanding that he instruct the airline to transfer $150 million into an off-shore account. Until he secures the money, a passenger on his flight will be killed every 20 minutes. Also starring Julianne Moore, Michelle Dockery, Nate Parker, Anson Mount, Lupita Nyong'o and Scoot McNairy. "Non-Stop" got mixed reviews from critics and was better-than-average business in cinemas.

"The Lego Movie" dropped from No. 2 to No. 3. This original 3-D computer animated story follows Emmet, an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. He is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously under-prepared. The movie's voice cast includes Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Nick Offerman, Alison Brie, Charlie Day, Liam Neeson and Morgan Freeman. "The Lego Movie" was highly praised by critics and was a blockbuster in cinemas.

"The Grand Budapest Hotel" debuted at No. 4. The comedy film "The Grand Budapest Hotel" recounts the adventures of Gustave H, a legendary concierge at a famous European hotel between the wars, and Zero Moustafa, the lobby boy who becomes his most trusted friend. The story involves the theft and recovery of a priceless Renaissance painting and the battle for an enormous family fortune — all against the back-drop of a suddenly and dramatically changing Continent. Starring Ralph Fiennes, F. Murray Abraham, Edward Norton, Mathieu Amalric, Saoirse Ronan, Adrien Brody, Willem Dafoe, Léa Seydoux, Jeff Goldblum, Jason Schwartzman, Jude Law, Tilda Swinton, Harvey Keitel, Tom Wilkinson, Bill Murray, Owen Wilson and Tony Revolori. "The Grand Budapest Hotel" was well-received by critics and movie audiences.

"Lone Survivor" fell from No. 4 to No. 5. Based on a true story, "Lone Survivor" tells the incredible tale of four Navy SEALs who get trapped in the mountains of Afghanistan, leading them into an enemy ambush. The all-star cast includes Mark Wahlberg, Taylor Kitsch, Ben Foster, Emile Hirsch and Eric Bana. "Lone Survivor" got mostly positive reviews from critics and was a hit at the box office.
