'30 Rock' series finale will feature Nancy Pelosi

Rep. Nancy Pelosi will appear on the hour-long "30 Rock" series finale airing later this month.

The Washington Post first broke the news on Thursday (Jan. 3) that the House Minority Leader will presumably play herself during the NBC sitcom's final episode, which was filmed in December.

“I would do almost anything Tina Fey asks me to do,” Pelosi told the paper in a statement about her scripted TV debut. “I’m flattered that they asked me to make a cameo in the series finale. I had a lot of fun.”

She follows in the footsteps of other politicians who have appeared on the Emmy Award-winning series over the years, including former Vice President Al Gore, NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg and former Sec. of State (and ex-girlfriend of Alec Baldwin's Jack Donaghy) Condoleezza Rice, all of whom played a version of themselves.

Fellow NBC comedy "Parks and Recreation" has also taken to booking high-profile politicos from both sides of the aisle this season, ranging from VP Joe Biden to Sen. John McCain.

Pelosi is no stranger to making TV appearances. She served as a guest judge for a quickfire challenge on "Top Chef" in 2010 during the show's D.C. edition, and has appeared on numerous daytime and late-night talk shows such as "The Daily Show" and "Rachael Ray."

The "30 Rock" series finale airs on Thursday, Jan. 31 at 8/7 p.m. CST on NBC.
