A carcass of a 30 foot giant squid (Architeuthis dux) was found on a beach in Cantabria, Spain by some people. Pete Thomas on October 3, 2013 reported this via Grind TV. "Beachgoers in Spain discover 30-foot giant squid." In his article he said, "Beachgoers in the Spanish community of Cantabria were astonished Tuesday when they stumbled onto the carcass of a giant squid that had washed ashore almost fully intact." He also said, "The deep-sea denizen-the fabled and mysterious Architeuthis Dux - measured 30 feet and weighed nearly 400 pounds. "http://www.grindtv.com/author/pete-thomas/
The mythical and legendary kraken was once considered an absurd fiction until indisputable physical evidence of its existence became available in the 1870s. Until then, those claimed to have seen it were often ridiculed, such as the crew of the French gunboat Alecton who encountered and tried to capture a specimen near the Canary Islands in 1861. The report they gave was laughed at and shrugged off. http://www.wikipedia.org
In 2004, a Japanese research team found proof of giant squid near Japans Bonin Islands, using a remote-control camera. They photographed a 26 foot female giant squid trying to take the bait from the end of the camera. They awoke the kraken! It aggressively attacked the bait. Giant squid are purplish red; have eight arms covered in tooth-lined cups, each one to two inches in diameter. It aggressively attacks prey with its enormous tentacles and sharp beak wide enough to swallow a basketball whole. It has the largest eyes of any living creature up to a foot in diameter. http://www.wikepedia.org
So far, there is no live specimens that have been caught and put in aquariums. They are God's creatures that live in the depths of the sea, and have provoked stories by ancient sailors and men today, believing they saw giant sea monsters. What a marvelous legend that is true and definitely a true survivor! Awake the Kraken!
The poet Tennyson wrote a poem about the the kraken:
Below the thunders of the upper deep;
Far, far beneath the abysmal sea
His ancient, dreamless, uninvaded sleep
The kraken sleepeth ...
What a awesome and terrifying creature the giant squid is? It was created by the Lord Jesus Christ for His pleasure. "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created" (Revelation 4:11)(KJV).
