Americans celebrate Thanksgiving later this month. And while it's become a day of parades and football and overeating, the first Thanksgiving(s) in America were held because of appreciation for God's bounty and protection.
In this month of thanks come here daily for scripture and inspiration.
On November 1, give thanks for Family.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5 he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.
Take the opportunity today to tell a family member or a friend that you are grateful for them and for their presence in your life. Thank them for providing for the family, for making your house a home or for being there in difficult times.
Blessed are You, loving Father,
For all your gifts to us.
Blessed are You for giving us family and friends
To be with us in times of joy and sorrow,
To help us in days of need,
And to rejoice with us in moments of celebration..
We praise You for Your Son Jesus,
Who knew the happiness of family and friends,
And in the love of Your Holy Spirit.
Blessed are you for ever and ever.
