30 Days of Real Love

Valentine’s Day and Love Month isn’t all about romantic love according to People Inspired. Today they matched up the release of their new single ‘Real Love’ with 30 days of Real Love. What does this mean? Every day for 30 days, show a random act of kindness for another, and post it with #RealLove. So what’s their idea of love; check out the video:

"The Happiness you feel is in direct proportion to the love you give." -Oprah

  • When you are at your least, you give your most.
  • The highest form of love is not affection.
  • Drives you to feed the hungry.
  • Won’t clock out.
  • Drives you to fight for what is just.
  • To reach beyond yourself.
  • Not about selfish gain.
  • Not dismissive.
  • Highest concern is for another.
  • Don’t keep record of wrong.
  • Never looks back.

What can you do? Need some suggestions of what these random acts of kindness could look like? Great! There is a list of 30 on their website; there are others below. Can you think of any to add?

  • sponsor a youth group by purchasing them music (either the organization or each student)
  • pay for the person’s meal behind you in the drive-thru
  • find something to compliment a stranger about
  • contact an elderly person in your space to ask if you could do some housework for them
  • add money to parking meters that are about to expire
  • donate the service that you are good at to a non-profit
  • help build a house with Habitat for Humanity
  • instead of giving someone an unneeded gift just because it’s a holiday, make a donation in their name to heifer.org
  • cut off all your hair to donate to Pantene so they can make wigs for cancer patients
  • handwrite letters or postcards with warm words to someone you barely know
