You should no longer be questioning whether or not you should be on social media networks. What you should be worried about is how you are going to get a Return on Investment from those social networks! Businesses these days keep panicking and diving into social networks without ever sitting down and figuring out how they're aiming to get results from each network. Instead, they post pointless content that gets no interaction, and they wonder why they aren't seeing the results that they need. I've laid out 3 things you can do to start getting ROI from social media in 2013. It won't solve all of your problems, but it's a great start!
1: Share Deals and Promotions through Twitter and Facebook
There's no denying the fact that people LOVE free stuff. That's never going to change. If you start posting awesome deals on your networks that people can really benefit from, they're going to start paying attention to you. Better yet - they'll tell their friends as well! Buy posting deals and promotions that people will appreciate, you'll guarantee that they start doing your marketing for you!
2: Pick Descriptive Pictures In Your Blog Posts and On Your Website
Hopefully by this point, you've noticed that sites like Instagram and Pinterest are exploding in the social media world. If you can't figure out why, it's simple: they're visual. People are no longer interested in reading a lot of text - people process images twice as fast as they do words. If you want people sharing your content, have a lot of awesome pictures on your website and your social networks so that people will be more likely to "pin" you, share your information, and more!
3: Don't Forget About LinkedIn
Many people think LinkedIn is just a site for people looking to get hired or grow their network. But it's so much more than that - get yourself and your brand active on LinkedIn so you can start connecting with people of similar interests. Focus on the LinkedIn groups - that's where people always sharing cool articles and information. Join groups relevant to your product or service and start sharing your blog post and other helpful information - people will take notice! The more you get your name out there, the better.
