For overeaters the four letter "F" word is their friend. Only food is that friend that will creep up behind you and stab you in the back without warning! It will attack your thighs, arms, stomach, and that sagging skin under your chin. Real friends are healthier and have good intentions.

Replace Carbonated Drinks!

Just like alcohol, cigarettes, various street drugs and or those prescribed, food can be an addiction. As with any addiction it usually results in serious illness or death. Food can destroy lives by wrecking marriages, socialization, and self-esteem. The biggest consequence is weight gain which then leads to all the other problems that chase overeaters down.

Simple changes can make a huge difference. The following information can help:

  1. Replace calories and sugar filled beverages with smart water. Add lemon, lime, and cucumber for a refreshing taste that will quench the thirst. It will also curve an appetite.
  2. Avoid gorging on unhealthy foods loaded with carbs, sugars and salts. Meditation can free your mind from the thoughts of junk foods. Remember that chocolate, chips, and pop will not fall off the face of the earth. Consider your pleasures as delayed gratitude. When the accomplished 10,000 steps is fulfilled self-reward with a small treat. The most important thing to remember is not to let every self-reward be related to food.
  3. Get at least 3 workouts per week either in the gym or at home. Parking the car as far away from the door forces added steps throughout the day.
