3 Ways to bolster resume to get the attention of a potential employer

#1 – The first descriptors should convey your experiences from your current job that highlights those skills needed most in the job that you are targeting. Don’t highlight unrelated job duties in your current position that do not demonstrate that you have shown that you have some measure of achievement.

#2 – Let your passion shine through that you enthusiastically support the mission and goals of your current position using quantity whenever possible. Don’t falsify information but think of ways that you helped the company’s most important missions and goals. For example, ‘identified $1000 in missing funds, audited $10M, delivered 200 food baskets, over a 3-year period or increased percentage of revenue by 10% over 12 month period’.

#3 – Use a variety of power words at the beginning of each sentence to describe how you made an impact in your job. Don’t tell your job description. Show key hiring officials about the power that you helped your team to contribute to in your current and previous employment and volunteer history. Try such beginners as: Accelerated-, Affirmed-, Benchmarked-, Bolstered-, Collaborated-, Co-authored-, Displayed-, Diversified- Explained-, Fine-tuned-, Heightened-, Indoctrinated-, Normalized-, Substantiated-, Revolutionized-, Upgraded.
