Well here a few tips that will help you stay cool and might allow you to have some fun this NFL season.
1) Keep calm
The worst thing that fantasy owners can do when they are on a losing streak is to start dumping players and picking up players en masse. Or when they start making bad trades for players that are only marginally better but will wreck your depth. Remember it is just a game there is no need to get a heart attack just because you have a losing record early in the season.
Depending on your league, you might only get a limited number of moves you can do each season. So, if you add and drop players like crazy early on your can hurt yourself later on if you can not add players later in the season or during the bye weeks.
Also, even if your team does finish poorly your season might not be over as your league might have Consolation playoffs. So check to see if your league has one and if it does try and keep your team as strong as possible until the end and you never know.
Also, your league might be a keeper league so if you are out of the playoff picture be on the lookout for players that are on the waiver line that might be backups this year but could be starters for next year.
2) Place wagers on certain outcomes
You can also place bets on certain things such as whose QB will play better or whose team commits the fewest turnovers. The wagers can from a couple of dollars to having the loser doing something like the cinnamon challenge or cleaning the winners car. Placing small bets with friends each week can add a little excitement and can add a little silliness to your league as well.
3) It’s just a game
If you are pulling your hair out every Sunday because Eli Manning just thrown another interception or Darren McFadden is down with another injury you are doing it wrong. If you are not having fun while managing a fantasy team then there is no point to really be in a fantasy football league.
Even if you are doing poor one season that doesn't mean that you still get trash talk on the forums or get in your friends face when your QB throws a 50+ yard TD pass. Even if you are dead last that doesn't mean that you can’t still have your moments and you never know you could always be a spoiler or could be the guy that breaks someone’s winning streak. So just remember to have a good time and there is always next year.
